Filipino number aces took home a total of 460 awards in the recently concluded 2020 International Mathematics Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA), held online in Bangkok, Thailand on December 1 and 2, 2020.
The Philippine math team bagged 29 gold, 103 silver and 238 bronze and 90 merit awards, topping in the 11-nation annual contest.
The Filipino math wizards outdid their Southeast Asian rivals from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore in garnering more gold awards than the powerhouse China which placed the Philippines second in the overall tally.
