PH rake medals from HK math tilt

The Filipino math wizards, numbering 261 of them brought the country into international prominence as they hauled a total of 401 medals from three math contests in Hong Kong  conducted last July 24-28, 2013.

Drawing a close to 1000 participants from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia,  and the Philippines, these three math contests: King of Math 2013, Environmental Science Search for Wizards and Asia Math Cup  made every math challenger solve a different set of mind-boggling math problems for three consecutive days.
This year, the Philippine teams were in the best mood of harvesting 66 gold, 157 silver and 178 bronze medals, placing the country first in medal counts and leaving Malaysia 2nd with 163; Hong Kong, 85; China, 68; Macau, 47; and Indonesia with two.
The Philippine delegation was headed by Dr. Archieval Rodriguez of the Mathematics Development Academy of the Philippines (MDAP) together with Mrs. Myrna Agtarap and Mr. Manuel Kotah.
