One-hundred seventy-nine awards – 10 gold, 25 silver, 76 bronze, and 68 merit certificates were the total haul of the Filipino math wizards in the 17th International Mathematics Competition (IMC) – Singapore, the IMC Union Council revealed to MTG Philippines.
The IMC Singapore brought together more than a thousand participants from China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Winning a gold certificate is a real feather in the cap for the ten Filipino mathletes who finished the competition with excellence.
Still, a mission accomplished for the other winners who walked away with silver, bronze, and merit certificates, which are representations of their high mental caliber in the field of mathematics.
