Japan’s Ministry of Education invites PH to join the 2020 AMO

Another window of opportunity for math wizards as the Gakken and the Ministry of Culture, Education, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan is inviting the Philippines to join in the 2020 Asia Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) which will be held on August 30, 2020.

This is an ONLINE international math contest for elementary students grouped in the following categories: BEE (Grades 1, 2 and 3), JUNIOR (Grades 4 and 5) and SENIOR (Grades 6).

The contest per category contains approximately 8 – 10 questions which will be answered in 90 minutes for Junior and Senior levels and 60 minutes for the BEE level.  This year’s AMO participants will receive a copy of past year contest paper.

All Filipino math wizards who underwent the summer training program are invited to join the 2020 Asia Mathematics Olympiad. The good news is that each interested summer trainee will pay a discounted registration fee which MathDAP had repeatedly requested from the organizer.

Furthermore, students who did not attend the summer training program and are not MTG/MathDAP/PhilBrain trainees are equally invited provided they will pay the original amount of the registration fee.

All interested participants must confirm their participation on or before Friday, July 10, 2020 at this email address, vinchartgo@gmail.com.

When COVID19 will be a thing of the past, the organizer will resume the usual contest operation.
