Filipino math wizards won a total of 536 medals in the 2018 National Parallel Challenge for Future Mathematicians National (NPCFM) held at Philippine Cultural College – Main Campus last December 8, 2018.
From more than 1,000 participants nationwide, 88 math aces won gold, 176 grabbed silver medals and 270 got bronze medals in levels from grades 3 to 10.
The NPCFM was conceived to provide maximum opportunity to the country’s math-inclined Filipino students to broaden their mathematical horizon and to experience a contest of international standard as they soar the height of excellence.
The competition was national in form since the participants competed among themselves. The NPCFM was international in substance and scope since the contest papers used were the same as those of the CFM international group and some CFM rules and regulations had been applied.
