The heat is on for math competition making the Filipino mathletes to brace themselves as they go for gold in the forthcoming 2018 Asia International Mathematical Olympiad which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on August 3 – 7, 2018.
This year, more than three hundred math wizards, armed to the teeth, will meet their equals head-on. The MathDAP upon the recommendation of the committee on training and development will field around 270 students in the elementary and junior/senior high school divisions respectively.
It is expected that large participants will also come from the usual participating countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Malaysia.

It’s final! The Mathematics Development Academy of the Philippines (MathDAP) will bring more than fifty math contestants ranging from grades 5 to 9 to represent our country in the 2018 World Mathematics Olympiad –Asian Round in Singapore on July 27 – 29, 2018.
In addition, there is another similar contest slated in February next year. It is known as the World Mathematics Olympiad – International Round.
The WMO Asian Round will be participated in by Thailand, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mongolia and the Philippines.

The Filipino math wizards harvested a total of 294 medals in the 2017 Southeast Asia Mathematics Olympiad (SEAMO) conducted at various MTG centers in the Philippines onDecember 16, 2018. From almost a thousand participants who competed in the SEAMO 2017 from the Philippines, an astounding 58 gold, 89 silver, and 147 bronze medals had been harvested by our country’s finest in mathematics.
In all, the SEAMO 2017 attracted more than 15,000 participants from Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, and the Philippines.
